Q&A with Author Sam Calagione

Author Sam Calagione When did you begin Dogfish Head Brewery, and what was your ideas?
We opened up Dogfish Head in 1995. Back then, we were the tiniest business brewery in the country. We wished to make beers that just weren't referencing commercially leading designs and beers that incorporate unique components from around the world. Or as we call it: Off-centered ales for off-centered people.

What result has being the host of Brew Masters on Discovery Channel had on the brewery and/or the Dogfish Head brand name?
We've been extremely privileged that need for our off-centered ales has been beyond our ability to earn them for the last 8 years. So the show hasn't already helped us market a lot more beer yet it has helped spread out the word regarding Dogfish and regarding the craft brewing renaissance taking place around the world now. We've had a blast doing the Brew Masters show, and I am most happy with the moments in it that celebrate exactly how skilled and passionate all of my associates are as they do their tasks. The show does a terrific task of debunking the brewing procedure and makes it approachable for people simply getting right into all of the fantastic and diverse beers that are being made by little indie breweries now.

What can visitors anticipate to obtain out of this new updated and revised version of Brewing Up a Business!.
?.!? There's still terrific stuff on what we discovered at Dogfish as we started our service, yet there is now a lot more material committed to concepts we've integrated to grow our service. With phases on using social media sites (my spouse Mariah is the queen of this at Dogfish) and separating your services or product in a crowded market.

Exactly what's in store for the future of Dogfish Head?
Great deals of new and unique beers, without a doubt. There will also be a Brew Masters episode centered around a brewpub we are servicing that will get on a roof in New York City called Eataly. The restaurant will be run by Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich and Dogfish. Birra Del Borgo (Rome) and La Baladin (Turin) are the adding breweries to the job. We've increased our brewery and our site. We intend to build a bigger distillery and open an additional club in 2012. Mainly, we simply wish to keep putting the where in Delaware and the mental in speculative.
